Editing level

The editing level refers to the zoom level where you can actually make changes in the map.

'Road editing level' is at least zoom level 16.

'Place and house number editing level' is at least zoom level 18. Also make sure that the respective layer is turned on (Tools menu).

Routing point

The shortest connection between a place and a road that can be reached with a car. In Map Creator the road attached to the routing point us used to display the roan name in the address details of places and house numbers.

Nodes and shape points

End Nodes

A node is diamond-shaped or round-shaped, it divides a road into different sections and makes it possible to change their course. Shapes at the beginning and end of a road are called end node.

Diamond-shaped end nodes indicate that the end of the road is connected to at least another road.

Round-shaped end nodes indicate that the end of the road is not connected to any road.

Click and drag nodes to increase the overall length of the road.

Righ-click on a node to see more options.

Shape points

These are big, round shapes on a road that are not at its beginning or end.

Click and drag shape points to modify the shape of the road.

Righ-click on a shape point to see more options.

Virtual points

Small, dark points on a road. You’ll find them between two main shape points.

Click and drag virtual points to create an additional shape point.

Viewport

The current visible map region on your screen.
